editing gabcasts

Does anyone have experience of this? I was basically managing a moblog from home while colleagues were on a trip. We had a great gabcast of about 3 minutes, but three short sections of it were really inappropriate. I tried to download it into Magix mp3 maker software without success. As a result, under pressure of time, we had to scrap the gabcast, which was a real shame. Any ideas?

You should be able to download the Gabcast mp3 file, edit it in say Audacity and then upload it on to Podomatic or Gabcast again if you have a pro account.

Do you think students will be able to cope with making unscripted gabcasts? Any ideas on how we can give them a bit of structure to help them on their way?

Another tip through the experience of moblogging from Montpellier: think about splitting gabcasts into short sections. Then if part of it is considered inappropriate the other parts can still easily be published without downloading and editing.

I guess it would be easy to blog a steady stream of snaps of a handful of students at a time, standing somewhere picturesque. How can we get a bit of variety into the shots and make the content a bit more gripping?

We have been running a blog on a French study visit, and aimed to get paretns commenting while the students were away. Interestingly we blogged a good number of photos (group shots, sights etc) with no cometns made, until we posted a close-up of two students. Instantly we got 3 comments from their parents. So to build bit of a community I guess it is good to think of ways of making things personal and aiming at particular people to elicit comments from them.
